Radiesse® treatment by MD in NYC

What is Radiese?

It’s a dermal filler composed of Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHa) microspheres suspended in a gel carrier medium.

How does Radiesse work?

After Radiesse is injected in the skin, there is an immediate improvement in the appearance of the skin and fine lines as the volume is added from the gel carrier. Overtime, the gel gets absorbed and the CaHa microspheres are broken down as they stimulate natural collagen production.

Is Radiesse reversible?

Unfortunately, Radiesse micropsheres are irreversible and are eliminated naturally by the body over time. Because of Calcium composition, the microspheres are visible on Xray or CT scan imaging, so please be sure to give your health care provided a heads up if you will be undergoing this type of imaging in the 12 month period after your treatment.

How long does Radiesse treatment last?

It the clinical trials the duration of Radiesse was at least 1 year and longer.

What areas can be treated with Radiesse?

FDA approved areas include:
Smile lines (nasolabial folds)
Marionette lines
Sad corners of the mouth
Pre Jowl’s

There is virtually no discomfort with this treatment as it comes premixed with Lidocaine (pain medication) to minimize any discomfort during the injection.
