What Is JUVÉDERM®?
JUVÉDERM® is an FDA-approved family of hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers manufactured by Allergan Aesthetics. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the skin that attracts and retains moisture, providing volume and structure. The Vibrata tool is also used to decrease injection discomfort. An average of 2–3 syringes is recommended for optimal results, though specific volumes depend on the treatment area and your goals.

JUVÉDERM injections are very comfortable. All JUVÉDERM XC products contain lidocaine, a built-in numbing agent, to minimize discomfort during treatment. Dr. Avaliani also uses the Vibrata tool to further decrease injection sensation and Accuvein technology to visualize blood vessels and virtually eliminate bruising. Pro-Nox (nitrous oxide) is available upon request for additional comfort.
Most JUVÉDERM treatments take 15–45 minutes depending on the number of areas treated. There is minimal to no downtime. Some patients may experience mild swelling or bruising that typically resolves within a few days. Results are visible immediately and settle beautifully over the following 2 weeks. You can return to normal activities right after your appointment.
