Snatched jaw line with PDO threads by threads expert Dr.Avaliani

Posted on 5 June, 2024

Dr.Avaliani does not like to bulk up the jaw with injections and is always focused on definition and tightening and not bulking.

A “snatched” jawline achieved with PDO threads can provide a more youthful and defined appearance without the need for surgery and without the risk of looking bulky from fillers. However, individual results may vary, and it’s essential to have realistic expectations about what can be achieved with this procedure as well as being the appropriate candidate. Having the right consultation is the most important step in the process followed by the correct procedure.

What is Dr.Avaliani’s approach to Jawline threads?

Jaw line is covered by a very strong muscle called Platysma, and all Dr.Avaliani’s protocols involve placement of a little tox like Botox/Dysport along the jawline to prevent the threads from moving and causing discomfort. This also aids in enhancing the sharpness of the lift as platysma muscle typically pulls the face down.

This similar concept Dr.Avaliani utilizes in Fox eye thread lift procedure. Addition of neuromodulator is an essential part of the treatment and is not negotiable.

PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are commonly used in cosmetic procedures to lift and tighten sagging skin, including achieving a more defined jawline. Here’s what you can expect from a PDO thread lift to create a “snatched” jawline:

  1. You’ll start with a consultation with Dr.Avaliani, who will assess your jawline and discuss your goals.
  2. Before the procedure, your skin will be double cleansed and Dr.Avaliani will perform numbing injections. During procedure you are provided with P ro-Nox, a nitrous oxide therapy to aid in any anxiety and discomfort measures.
  3. Once you are numbed and relaxed, Dr. Avaliani will proceed with the placement of the threads. The PDO threads, which are biodegradable and dissolve over time, are inserted under the skin using a cannula. The threads have tiny barbs that anchor into the tissue, providing a lifting effect. They can be placed strategically along the jawline and sometimes extending to the cheeks or neck to create a more defined contour.
  4. Lifting and Tightening: Once the threads are inserted, they are gently pulled to lift and reposition the skin. This helps to tighten loose or sagging skin along the jawline, giving it a more defined appearance. The threads also stimulate collagen production, which further enhances skin firmness and elasticity over time.
  5. You’ll notice some immediate improvement in the jawline contour after the procedure, but the full results will become more apparent as any swelling or bruising subsides and as collagen production increases. Bruising is very rare with this procedure.
  6. Recovery from a PDO thread lift is usually minimal. You may experience some mild swelling, tenderness at the insertion sites, but these side effects typically resolve within a few days to a week. It is recommended to avoid strenuous activities or massaging the treated area. Sleeping is advised with your head elevated for a few days to aid in recovery.
  7. Dr. Avaliani recommends maintenance of PDO threads results once a year. The PDO threads results are not permanent and over time the threads dissolve, but the collagen they stimulate can continue to improve skin quality for several months up to 1 year.
  8. The best time to plan your threads treatment is minimum 3-5 days but ideally 2 weeks before any event. PDO thread lift provides an immediate lifting effect and you may want to give a little extra time for any swelling and/or bruising to go away. If you have short hair, 2 weeks is ideal. If you have longhair, 3-5 days is enough as lowering the hair around the face can potentially hide any swelling and/or bruising.
